I arrive late at 5:45 a.m. After going through immigration I wait in vain at the baggage carousel...my duffel bag probably didn't come with me. But it wouldn't be a Haese trip if nothing happened. I submit another search request, briefly go through customs (there's nothing left to check) and then finally meet Duncan outside, who wanted to pick me up despite my early arrival. Finally back again, the journey home is like coming home, in the distance you can see snow-covered mountains, many things are still so familiar.
A delicious breakfast, a story to tell, a quick visit to the bus, then we go shopping for a few clothes.
Freshly showered after 36 hours of travel, it's finally the car's turn. After 3 ½ years in the sheepfold, with only a little work on the side, the car is pretty dusty. There are some spider webs in the interior, the brake discs are rusty, but everything else looks good. I reconnect the battery, check all fluids and start the engine. At first there's a thermostat stuck, the engine temperature jumps to 120°, but I can persuade the thing to cooperate.
I carefully drive the bus to the meadow, empty it completely and wash it first. Then a few more laps on the road with half-flat tires, now the brakes are bare again.
So he can go to the TÜV, more precisely the re-commissioning test. After all this time, the approval has expired, so to speak, a full inspection is due, which he will definitely not pass on the first attempt, if at all. But let's see...
