Can you imagine a main road suddenly ending by saying it is now narrowing and becoming a dead end? That's what happened about 20 kilometers before Vitoria, the capital of the Basque Country. I was so surprised and focused on how to get out of this situation that I completely forgot to take a photo.
We continued on a normal road to the side and luckily Komoot found the solution to continue. Did we run out of money or is this a prank?
Right from the start I went back on the N-1. I only left it once because I wanted to see Miranda. So I walked a large part of the way through the city. It started with the bridge over the Ebro, then through a pedestrian zone and finally through a park. Unfortunately the N-1 had already disappeared without a trace and I had to tackle an ascent and a steep descent.
Today I managed to do over 100 kilometers again with just 2 energy bars. But that is primarily because I managed to do long stretches without any motor assistance. There were a lot of downhill sections and I had to lose the altitude I had previously gained with great effort. Vitoria is almost 500 meters lower than Burgos, which leads to many long descents. My maximum speed today was just under 60 km/h. And if I had been braver, it would definitely have been even higher.
After about 30 kilometers I stopped at a restaurant for a break and had my breakfast, so to speak. I was even served a piece of very fine tortilla. It was excellent! Then I continued on the N-1, which later ended in a dead end.
About 40 kilometers further on, I took a second break. This was at an official rest area. Even then, I noticed that there were hardly any cars on the road, because it was only about 2 kilometers before the road closure with an exit.
There is also a large cathedral in Vitoria, which I passed by on foot. But the old town is also worth seeing and has a special attraction for me. There are escalators here that go steeply uphill. I then went up 3 floors myself, pushing the eBike of course.
Today I am in a hotel again where you have to check in yourself. But the good thing is that this apartment is very well equipped. In the kitchen there are lots of things like vinegar, oil, etc. So I was even able to make myself a salad. There is also a washing machine, so it was laundry day and everything is now fresh and clean again.
In order to be able to make my own food, I had to go shopping. I found a small shop nearby that had a good selection. Everything I needed was there. It's a shame that the man at the cash register doesn't speak English, I would have liked to have continued talking to him. But he was happy to receive my flyer and we said goodbye with good wishes for each other.

Are you imagining a federal road that takes a long time to complete, only to be stretched and confused on a no-go street? This is what happened about 20 kilometres from Vitoria, the capital of the Vasco da Gama. I was very surprised and concentrated on leaving this situation behind by completely taking a photo.
Continue along a normal road and fortunately Komoot found the solution to progress. If the money has gone here or is it a dirty boat?
From the principle it turns to the N-1. Only she left once because she wanted to look at Miranda. So that I could walk a large part of the city to my feet. Start by the bridge over the Ebro, then through a peatland area and finally through a park. Lamentably the N-1 has already broken down without leaving the grid and is facing a steep decline.
Today I'll run more than 100 kilometers with just 2 energy collectors. But it should be noted that long distances can be covered without motorized assistance. It was very low and seemed to reduce the altitude which I had previously acquired with great difficulty. Vitoria is about 500 m lower than Burgos, it has numerous and long descents. My maximum speed today was a little less than 60 km/h. And if I woke up more heartily, I'd definitely subdued it even more.
After a good 30 kilometers, a break at a restaurant and breakfast, that's what I decide. Including me a finished tortilla bar. It was exquisite! Here we continue on the N-1, which then ended in a no-go street.
Here a second break, 40 kilometers faster. This was in an official rest area. I then realize that there aren't any cars on the road because I only had to fold two kilometers to lock it and get out.
There is also a large cathedral in Vitoria, because it has passed away. But the old helmet is also worth seeing and is particularly attractive to me. Here there are mechanical stairs that sink deeply. Here I take away 3 floors, taking the eBike with me, by surprise.
Today I'm flying to a hotel where they record you all. But the good thing is that this apartment is very well equipped. There are many things in the kitchen like vinegar, oil, etc. That includes making a salad. There is also a washer, because it was the day the clothes were washed and now everything is fresh and clean again.
To be able to make my own food, I still have to buy. Found a small store nearby that has a good selection. In all ways, everything that was needed was there. It's a pity that the man in the box doesn't speak English, I'd rather speak more with him. But he was content with my steering wheel and we despediments with good wishes each other.
