Today I got up at 7 AM and made myself breakfast downstairs. Then I packed and went to the bus station. The new shoes felt good. Before that, I had a coffee, and then I wanted to get on the bus, but unfortunately, the bus didn’t go to the place where I had stopped but only to the next larger town. But that’s fine with me. So today’s stage is a bit shorter, and I have already walked enough detours. I chilled during the almost 2-hour bus ride and just kept an eye out for where we were, so I wouldn’t miss my stop. And so I got off and was immediately back on the Camino. It was very cold, but at least it was dry and sunny. I was in a really good mood and set off joyfully. In the forest, I was able to test the new shoes right away for how mud and water-resistant they are. I walked along many forest and field paths. And then I ran into David from Aachen again, whom I had met a few days ago in a hostel. What a coincidence! We walked together for about 2 hours. He then took a break, and I continued on. He wants to walk further than I do today because he wants to arrive in Santiago tomorrow. I will take a short stage tomorrow of 25-30 kilometers and then only 10-15 kilometers on Sunday. I don’t want to do long distances with the new shoes, and I have time. So I continued alone and came across a few animals again. It went back through the forest and also up a few smaller inclines, but everything was manageable. After a total of 28 kilometers, I arrived in Silleda. It is a larger town with a few shops and restaurants. I went to the accommodation, where there was no owner. Other guests were in the kitchen. Then I was told over the phone that I should take a room. Said and done. The building used to be a girls' boarding school, and I took a room with 2 beds in it. For 10€, you can't complain. I went to a bar to drink a coffee. Then I will buy something small at the supermarket and then eat and rest. I will enjoy the last bit of time on the Camino.
I will check in later or tomorrow again.
