Hello diligent reading sheep.🐑
After a long struggle, we finally made it. We are in Galway. The first night here was very restful and the first fantastic breakfast (scrambled eggs and bagels with great toppings) was the best we've had in weeks. We rode our bikes to the city center to take a look around. Galway is a true larger village with its cute 54 km^2, so you don't need much time to ride through it. In the city center, we immediately heard violin music from three girls who were playing classical Irish music, which blew up the city feeling even more. A few meters further, a man started playing the guitar. He had such a wonderful voice that I sat down in the middle of the road and tears came to my eyes as I listened to him. Unfortunately, you can't insert videos here. It was wonderful. There aren't really many sights here, but the city is very beautiful, the people are cheerful, and you can reach the absolute nature in just a few minutes. Probably another reason why I fell head over heels in love with Galway.
After I managed to tear myself away from the singer, we walked along the Corrib River (which flows through Galway) to the Cathedral of Galway. It is probably the most beautiful church I have ever seen. After the church, we actually wanted to continue to Manlo Castle. However, Google Maps sent us to the wrong side of the river because there is no official way to the ruin. We took a short snack break and considered how to get to the ruin. A short time later, we crossed a bridge to the other side of the river in the direction where we assumed Manlo Castle to be. On the way there, we also encountered a pony that looked rather neglected. It enjoyed our strokes and seemed to like our company. (Since then, Hannah has been calling me the horse whisperer) I'm just good with animals🤷🏼♀️. But my amazing dad doesn't want to buy me a pony (cough cough).
We continued through a very beautiful forest and came across a blocked path. But as is already known, not everything we do is very legal (especially when I'm involved) so we quickly climbed over the small wall. I love castle ruins, so I was thrilled with this one too. Sometimes it's worth not following the rules. In the evening, we were exhausted but it was a great day.
Goodbye sheep.
