Horse drive - or one of the best days of my life - Part 1

I will never forget this day. Everyone who participated is sure that it was unique and the most amazing thing we have ever done.

So much happened that it can't all fit into one blog post, so I will write several parts about it. So don't be surprised that it comes in multiple pieces.

When I woke up yesterday morning I already realized that we could do the drive in the best weather the emperor could offer. Brilliant sunshine, almost no wind, and warm enough that no one needed extra warm clothing. The meeting point was at the stable at 11 o'clock and we were punctual and got our horses ready. Only our Swede had special requests again and changed horses for a short time... no words.... When everyone was ready, we found out that the first part of the ride would go away from the farm to the sensational waterfall Bergafoss. This ride alone would have been worth the day. I have never crossed the river so many times and all this with really nice people. Magnus' horse Haustrigur had a lot of fun in the water and I thought he would just throw himself in. That would have been a real blast, but Magnus was able to convince his horse in time not to jump into the water with a lot of momentum. After about 2.5 hours we arrived at the most magical place in Iceland. The pictures speak for themselves. I am extremely grateful to Magnus for taking us there. Each participant will remember this place in a very special way. Then we continued to the meeting point where the horses came down from the mountain and were collected. But that's the topic for the next part.
