Thailand - Bangkok - KOH SAMUI - Koh Phangan - Koh Tao
Two packages arrived safely in Koh Samui.
After being driven overnight through all of southern Thailand in a bus (unfortunately not a sleeper bus like in India, but a bus with seats that recline further back than usual) with a sticker on our chests. After one transfer, we arrived at the ferry where we received another sticker on our chests. You are probably wondering what's up with all the stickers. Well, as I said, traveling here is idiot-proof. The sticker is equivalent to the address on a package. So we were essentially packages being shipped from Bangkok to Koh Samui. Even after the ferry, a bus was waiting to take us directly to the hostel. Thanks to the stickers, everyone knows where we want to go without having to communicate further with us.
The time has come to double-check every room for snakes, spiders, and other creatures. Especially under the toilet seat in the bathroom. So far, we've been lucky and haven't encountered any of those creatures. Just our beloved geckos 😊
The island is bigger than expected and our hostel, due to its proximity to a harbor, doesn't have the cleanest water. But Pim - our hostel mom - said that there is a hotel near the hostel where we can use the pool. Of course, only if we buy a drink or something to eat. There, we enjoyed ourselves in the heat and had a few cool drinks at the pool bar. Some vacation vibes on our journey.
On the other two days, we rode a scooter around the island. Explored the jungle areas and the popular tourist spots with their beautiful beaches. Because it's off-season, it's not crowded with people. Which is usually different, as we can tell from all the fancy hotels and restaurants.
We also relaxed in an affordable restaurant and worked on our blog, our ideas, and our further travel plans.
And our next plan is the island of Koh Phangan.
