Dunedin/Otago

So right away: the thumb pressing worked! Thank you very much!

Firstly, the sun seems to be shining again today and I can still dry my clothes that I washed yesterday, and secondly, this morning I managed to get a ticket for the rugby league match tomorrow! The home team from Dunedin (Highlanders) will be playing against the champions of the last two years and the current table leaders from Christchurch (Crusaders). Accordingly, the tickets were also very popular.

After canceling the Milford Sound, I looked around a bit to see what there is to do on my alternative route and happened to check the league's schedule. And since I could only get the tickets at the ticket shop, you should keep your fingers crossed... 😁👍

So, about yesterday's day, it was rather mediocre, the weather was autumn-like, so cold and rainy. I drove 4 hours from Queenstown to Dunedin and then I wasn't motivated for anything else.

Today, it's a different story again, I was out in the city today. It's about the size of Ulm and is spread out on steep hills by the sea. (Here you can also find the steepest inhabited street, which I'll visit tomorrow.) And the city is full of students and known for being a Scottish branch in New Zealand (the name also comes from the Scottish Gaelic word for the city of Edinburgh). The architecture reflects this well.

I'm curious to see if the St. Paddy's Day is celebrated here tomorrow as it is with the Irish...

So, see you probably the day after tomorrow, when I can hopefully report about an exciting game.
