12 March 2017 Pisco Elqui

Ebimisami: 15.03.2017

Today we took the opportunity to visit Pisco Elqui. The place is relatively small but very picturesque. Everywhere you encounter 'Gabriela Mistral', a poet who lived nearby and was very well known. Her birthplace is a kind of mecca for Chilean tourists. The Elqui Valley is known for its special cosmic radiation. Everywhere you can cleanse your aura and harmonize your chakras here. There are some communities here that practice alternative lifestyles. By the way, UFOs have also been seen here.

In addition, there are many observatories here where you can actually take a look through the telescope. We had signed up for that, but unfortunately there were not enough interested people and it was also a full moon, so the view was not so good because of the bright moon. We will try it again in the Atacama Desert or alternatively on the way back.

By the way, I actually managed to sleep through an earthquake at night. Ok..it was only a very short tremor, but at least the bed seems to have shaken. However, I am not particularly keen on experiencing an earthquake. Chile hardly misses anything here...earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis...Chile offers everything.

Another problem are the many dogs that live a rather miserable life on the streets. At night, all these dogs join in a chorus that steals sleep.

By the way, today we also took part in a 'Pisco tour' and learned how Pisco is made. Very delicious...I can only recommend it😊
