Home sweet Home!

We are back home!

7 weeks, 2,000 kilometers, no damage to equipment, no cold or other ailments, exciting accommodations in every way, intense and stress-free family time, beautiful landscapes, lots of sea and beach, fresh air and nature – in short, it was really perfect and only had one drawback: it was too short!!!

What will remain, what will we take with us?

First of all, the distance relationships have been shifted: 30 kilometers now appear to be a short distance by bike and for this reason, we will try to manage with only one car in the future (also considering the high diesel prices). Hopefully, our daily schedule will allow us to do this.....

Time is a good keyword. Everyday life needs to become calmer: fewer obligations, fewer appointments, less rushing around and also saying no to invitations that can only be accepted under stress. The peace and calmness at the (supermarket) cash registers, which have accompanied me for 7 weeks, must somehow be continued in German everyday life, right?!

And finally: traveling broadens the mind, is fun, and it is a luxury to be able to show the world to your children. It doesn't have to be the most expensive hotel or the farthest away destination. We will probably never be able to do such a trip with our children again, but we hope that the health, world political, and last but not least financial situation will allow us to experience similar trips in a shorter form in the future.

It was an incredibly beautiful trip – thanks to our parents, employers, and Nata & Dasha, without whom this project would not have been possible. And also thanks to CUBE for the material support and to everyone who has followed us on this blog or in other ways... so we always had a piece of 'home' with us:)

Best regards,

Anne & Kai with Pontus, Stian and Smilla Berelsmann
