The fantastic weather remains with us and so on our third day in Canada we have sun, a little wind, and around 25 degrees.
Since our hotel is centrally located on Georgia Street (corner of Cambie Street), everything is conveniently within walking distance.
Our first destination today was the Seabus Terminal. The Seabus ferries connect downtown with North Vancouver and provide an excellent view of the downtown skyline from the water.
A highlight of the skyline is the 'Canada Place' - a pavilion built out into the water, whose structure is reminiscent of the sails of a ship. Unfortunately, the view today was somewhat limited, as three cruise ships were anchored and partially obstructed the view.
After that, we headed towards Gastown and its frequently photographed landmark, the 'Steam Clock' that releases steam every hour.
We also planned to visit Chinatown. However, when the street atmosphere suddenly turned negative and we had a bad feeling about walking there, we put our plans on hold :-)
In the evening, we walked around False Creek, past the Science Center and the Olympic Village from 2010. The mood in the many cafes and pubs in the area was very relaxed. There were many walkers, cyclists, and joggers. In addition, a few street musicians created a good atmosphere.
