It has already been two years since my big tour through the Western Alps. And it took just as long for me to finally get a long enough break to go on a tour that does justice to this blog. Well, this time it's only four weeks and not 3.5 months. But there is still plenty of room for adventures.
At the beginning, one is still optimistic that everything will go according to plan - the weather will cooperate, the bike will definitely remain free from breakdowns, as will all the other equipment, and all the climbs will be a piece of cake. Not to mention the trails with a guaranteed flow. Deep down, I already know that it will turn out differently, but without a good dose of optimism, I probably wouldn't even set off, right?
So, I have decided to start in the familiar Aosta Valley for the next few weeks and then go around the Mont Blanc, past the Gran Paradiso, and finally reach Martigny. That's the rough plan. I want to ride some missed and newly discovered trails along the way, and of course, I'm doing all this just to be able to indulge in the culinary delights of French cuisine once I get there.
So, here we go again, on the road again!
