4 days in Istanbul

Istanbul

when I set foot on German soil at the airport in Berlin after the lunch break 😜I hope I don't get ...

Doodling around in Istanbul, 100m away from our old accommodation - (host Engin was 'really sad') - we went to our new accommodation as a group of four. Yes, that's right, for two nights we shared a cute apartment with Kathi & Peter.

A trip to Hagia Sophia, long walks, playing cards in the park, and zooming around on the ferry were part of the last days in Istanbul. Peter also treated himself to a sheep's foot soup, devouring the chunks of meat and fat. The taste and smell of the soup were exactly what you would imagine from a sheep's foot. The taste probably still haunts him to this day.

After a few nice days, including exploring the Asian side of Istanbul and the Kurdish quarter, it was time for us to take the overnight train back to Sofia. We lost Kathi and Peter halfway in Plovdiv, have fun guys :)

A little tip: Leaving Istanbul on Saturdays takes at least twice as long. It can even happen that you ask the bus driver to drop you off in the middle of the street because it's faster to walk.

There was a little shock in between when Kevin had to fix a website, which was a difficult task without a laptop. With a few tricks and thanks to a tablet, it somehow worked. Kevin was visibly relieved and we could finally sleep. At least until the three-hour passport control marathon.

Arriving back in Sofia, Maria didn't feel 100% healthy, so it was time to rest in bed. Our hotel had a mini-gym where Kevin could entertain himself in the meantime.

Today we continue to Thessaloniki by bus, we're curious to see how this journey will be.
