This morning I packed my things without breakfast and set off at 7:15 a.m. I had already chosen a bakery the day before. I explained what I wanted using sign language and by 7:45 a.m. I was back on my bike, refreshed.
The route was very monotonous today. With a few small exceptions, it is actually the entire route along road 21, which has varying levels of traffic. I had the feeling that there were fewer trucks on the road today than usual. This may have been due to the Bulgarian Alphabet Day holiday. I wanted to get the kilometers over with as quickly as possible. I took two breaks (once in an apricot grove and once at a gas station with ice cream and cola). By 2 p.m. I was already at today's accommodation. It has a beautiful garden and is located right next to the Srebarna Biosphere Reserve. I'm going to walk there now and then go to the only restaurant in town for dinner.
Tomorrow I have another 18km to go until I cross the border into Romania. I'm excited to see what happens in Romania in terms of road conditions, wild dogs, accommodation and so on!
