Sunny reception in Cape Town - but where are the lions and mangoes ???

Weşandin: 17.01.2018

January 8, 2018: A 12-hour night flight to Cape Town serves us sun and the associated good mood as well as a holiday feeling for breakfast. All kids (Le 7 months, Ma 4 and Fa 7 years) have handled the flight super well and the parents are suffering from the biggest jet lag. On the way to the hotel from the airport, seven-year-old Fa makes it clear that we haven't seen any lions yet, and Ma complains that we haven't bought any mangoes either. Ma is a passionate fruit fan and was not so enthusiastic about the idea of traveling long distances at the beginning of our travel plans. But with the prospect of traveling to countries where mangoes can be picked from trees and where there are paradisiacal fruit conditions, we were able to quickly change his mind. Our preparatory stories about South Africa were fruitful and the expectations of the kids regarding lions and mangoes were quite high. Only the youngest continues to limit his expectations to simple basic needs, which we are used to from a seven-month-old baby. When we arrived at the hotel, we quickly dropped off our luggage, had lunch, and eagerly awaited the arrival of the grandparents, who will accompany us during the first few weeks here in South Africa and on the Seychelles. And on the way back to the hotel, we bought several mangoes. We haven't been able to provide any lions yet. However, the squirrels running around us are well received.
