We like it here in Sawai Madhopur so much that we are staying for three nights. Many people (especially Germans and Indians) come to the hostel for just one night to take part in a tiger safari. Yesterday we also went on a safari in a jeep. It was really exciting. We sat in the jeep with an Indian family, who booked the tour in Zone 9 of the huge Ranthambore National Park. Due to the long journey, it took five instead of three hours. It was just as thrilling and interesting as the safari itself. We didn't expect India to have such diverse landscapes. Really beautiful. It was also very interesting to pass through villages, as they have a different way of life. Simple agricultural work is clearly a focus there. During the tour through the zones of the national park, we saw many huge antelopes, deer, and peacocks. Unfortunately, no tigers, leopards, or bears :-( only their footprints in the sand. That's how it is with wild animals, you can't force it, even though it's a shame not to have seen them. Today we visited a temple complex in the national park, which was truly amazing. Emely even got to fulfill her first dream there and touch a huge, rooted tree. :-)
Tomorrow we will continue by train to Jaipur. Until then :-)
