On Tuesday, 14th March, together with Lewi, an Indonesian organic food entrepreneur, I boarded the train to Purwokerto. Lewi supplies the Claro store in Switzerland and has complained to me about the strict organic guidelines.
As an agroforestry expert, I was filling in for the absent Johannes and giving a lecture on the benefits of lightwood as a forestry product.
As a 'Bule' (white man), one quickly becomes an expert here. Fortunately, none of the farmers could speak English. Lewi then translated my makeshift presentation into Indonesian.
On Wednesday, we continued by train to Jogja.
PS: Do not book the highest class in the train! I rarely felt so cold. They are crazy with the air conditioning;)
