25.9. Hopewell Rocks - walking on the seafloor

ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ: 27.09.2019

A gloomy morning, so we decided to go shopping first. In Moncton, there is a very large Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World. The decoration and the offerings for hunting, fishing, boating, fashion, and much more are incredible.

Then we took a short trip to Shediac, the Lobster Capital of the World, a nice little town by the sea. Unfortunately, the season is over and most lobster places are closed.

On the highway, we had another encounter with a moose.

The highlight of the day is the Hopewell Rocks in the afternoon at the Bay of Fundy. Due to the extreme tides, these rock formations are submerged twice a day. The tidal range here is up to 16 meters. During low tide, you can walk on the seafloor. We stroll over the muddy brown ground for a while and admire the erosion-formed shapes.

A truly remarkable natural phenomenon. You have to visit these rocks at both low and high tide, so the next morning, with better weather, we returned to the same spot. We can no longer walk on the seafloor.

The entrance tickets to this nature reserve cost $10 CAD and are valid for two days. There is a large visitor center with a restaurant. Well-developed paths lead to various observation points.http://jogginsfossilcliffs.net/
