That was exciting and really beautiful... We set off from Sydney in the sunset over the Harbor Bridge.
People stood at the top of the arch of the iron bridge and waved to us. The Sydney Harbor Bridge was built in 1932. The arch bridge is the main link between Sydney's north and south coasts. Locals also call it a “clothes hanger”. It is the largest steel arch bridge in the world.
We passed the opera, past the business district and slowly sailed towards the open sea. The entire trip out of the port took 1 hour. Pilots on board and in front of and behind our ship accompanied the journey. The little yellow dinghy ended up taking the pilot off board until we disappeared into the dark of the night in the South Pacific.
The ship is huge and a slight rocking is noticeable. This morning I had this view from my cabin during breakfast.
We will now be at sea for 2 days to New Zealand and then enter port in Picton (MARLBOROUGH SOUNDS). The next adventure awaits me there... 😉
