Goodbye Australia, hello New Zealand!
or: Goodbye warmth, hello cold!
We boarded the plane in Adelaide at 37 degrees and landed in Christchurch at 15 degrees. It hasn't gotten much warmer in our first week in New Zealand, so we've already unpacked our warm clothes - New Zealand summer...
After exploring Christchurch - the city is still marked by the 2011 earthquake - we started our journey to Queenstown with our Tommy. We're amazed by the incredibly beautiful nature and feel like we're in 'lord of the rings'. We hiked to two glaciers at Mount Cook (3724m) and camped at a free campground for the first time.
Queenstown itself is a small sweet town that we explored fairly quickly. We took a two-day trip to one of the most famous fjords in New Zealand - Milford Sound. Dozens of temporary waterfalls form there when it rains.
We're now at the southernmost point of our New Zealand trip and are heading north.
