There are cities with which we simply don't really warm up to. Miami clearly belongs to this category. In 1996, we found little appealing about the city and this has not changed during our visit this time either. We had booked the excursion Miami by Land and Water. Unfortunately, our tour guide on the bus only spoke English again. This wasn't a problem because she only named the buildings we passed by. After a short detour towards Miami Beach and Ocean Drive, we drove to Bayside and then onto an excursion boat. This was followed by a boat tour on the water, passing by the islands and houses of the rich and famous. This is where we saw the former homes of Don Johnson, Steffi Graf, Jackie O'Neill, Vanilla Ice, and others. We were also able to take very nice photos of our Mein Schiff from the boat. After 90 minutes, we returned to Bayside and then took another tour through the city and through the Cuban quarter. At Bayside, we let ourselves be dropped off again. We wanted to do some shopping in the stores for the girls and quickly found something from Victoria's Secret. However, on the way back to the ship, we had to walk about 3 km. We reached the port by crossing a bridge and going through a park. Unfortunately, it started to rain here and we got a little wet by the time we finally got back on the ship. First, we strengthened ourselves with a burger at the Day and Night Bistro and then went to the sauna to warm up. Unfortunately, the sun was hiding behind thick clouds and didn't come out anymore. So we decided to watch the ship sail away from our balcony. As in the morning, the path led us about 5 km along a road and the islands, so that we had another beautiful tour here.
