Hi guys,
today was all about waterfalls, nature, hot weather, and occasional cool downs!
After breakfast, we left the campsite relatively early this morning. By 9:30 am, we were already at our first destination, a viewpoint overlooking the region we were in and the Glass House Mountains. However, the journey itself was more exciting than the view because it was Ann-Estelle's first time driving on the left side of the road! After a bit of practice and getting used to it, she did well, and she also handled the bumpy gravel road.
At the viewpoint, we went on a short hike and saw our first snake!😳 However, it was tiny and quickly disappeared into the bushes! Still, we saw our first snake!😍
Afterward, Ann-Estelle drove us to Gardner's Falls, a small waterfall located on an Australian hill range, where I went swimming in the waterfall pool with some locals! It was absolutely beautiful and refreshing!
On our way back to the car, we saw some more bearded dragons and bush turkeys! We seem to have to make friends with them for now because they are everywhere here!😳 Ann-Estelle finds the bearded dragons very cute, but I find them a bit creepy, to be honest!
Then we briefly stopped at the supermarket as both of us were feeling very hot and stocked up on cold drinks! From here, I took over driving again. For Ann-Estelle, it was enough excitement in traffic for the day. We were still driving on the hill range, which seemed incredibly green for Australian standards! It actually reminded me a bit of New Zealand, and when we stopped at our next destination, Kondalilla National Park, it was the same. Surrounded by palm trees, ferns, and other jungle-like nature, we hiked to another waterfall! On the way, we encountered not only bearded dragons but also two really big goannas, which again gave me a creepy feeling! When we arrived at the waterfall, we found a dreamlike spot where a few other backpackers and locals were already waiting. There was a great atmosphere, people went swimming, sunbathing, and we just relaxed.
Eventually, we made our way back to the car and then to the campsite. It is beautifully located by a river in the middle of nature.
We had dinner here and soon went to bed. The place is really nice, and we even saw some parrots flying along the river!
Greetings from Obi Obi, Australia!🇦🇺
Your Tim!😊
