Today I am setting off on my eleventh, and now also final, day. It's unbelievable what I have experienced and achieved, but also how quickly time has passed. When I went for breakfast at 8.10 this morning, I was shocked. The bus brought many hikers and most of them are doing my route, but I let them go ahead and have breakfast first. Shortly after nine, I am now starting the king stage via Hohtürli - Blüemlisalphütte Oschinensee Kandersteg. There are not many kilometers today, it goes uphill and downhill. The ascent to Hohtürli, the pass from the Kien to the Kander Valley, is very steep. In the end, it's only stairs in the rock. I overtake the hiking group from the bus around halfway. Hohtürli is at 2780 m above sea level. And thus the highest pass. There is quite a lot of snow in the north ascent. After just under 3 hours, I reach the top and take a 10-minute detour and visit the first SAC hut, the Blüemlisalphütte. The view of the Blüemlisalp and its glaciers, as well as all the other mountains and even as far as Thun, is fantastic. A nice soup strengthens me before the long descent. But I am rewarded with the view of the most beautiful mountain lake, Lake Oeschinensee, according to the description. Down there, I enjoy a nice afternoon snack because I couldn't have been in the Bernese Oberland without meringue. I enjoy the sun, the view, the lake, and the meringue before heading down to Kandersteg. Today, I truly had another king stage with 1400 meters of altitude, 19 km, and almost 6 hours of hiking. The Bernerhof is waiting for me with a nice room where I will be warmly welcomed. Here too, I can relax my tired limbs in the sauna. For dinner, I stay at the hotel where they serve blue trout from the nearby Blausee. I can't miss that. For the last time, I fall tired into the hotel bed.
