I am often asked why there are no food pictures, when in Germany every bratwurst is distributed via WhatsApp.
Essentially because there is not much to report. South American cuisine is not really world famous.
An example of breakfast, which would certainly elicit some negative comments from demanding European tourists on hotel websites, but I think it is sufficient, because one should adapt to the customs of the host country and here it is simply.
Desayuno (Breakfast): Mostly some juices from a package, coffee to mix (Nescafe like at home!), processed cheese, shaped ham, if necessary, salami and white bread, usually some butter and one kind of jam. That is it and it is enough as a basis for the day.
Empanadas (Pastry filled with meat, cheese, or seafood): Main meal of the Chileans, so to speak the Chilean bratwurst. Filled pastries, cost between 1.50 EUR and 2 EUR and are filled with vegetables, meat, or seafood, although I could not find a big taste difference between the different varieties. You always get into a conversation when you buy one. They are sold on the buses by the flying vendors at the stations, who come into the buses.
Otherwise, a lot of pasta often from the pan and pork chop (Chuletta) usually with french fries (Papas Fritas). What I have learned in the meantime is to ask beforehand if the dish contains cilantro, which is often the case...a terrible spice in my opinion...
