With a small plane we flew from Medellin to Pereira in just 30 minutes. 🛩️ There, I could really feel the movement of the plane throughout the flight. 🙈😁 But otherwise, it was interesting to fly with such a small machine. 👍🏻😎 From Pereira, we then took a bus to Salento. 🚌 Our backpacks were put next to the driver and the bus was once again crowded. 🙈😁 After a few turns, suddenly there was smoke coming from the front of the bus... 🌫️😱 The door was closed, so we tried to open the windows a little bit at least, so we wouldn't get smoke poisoning. 🙊😷 The driver was acting a bit strange, though, and was bending down near the pedals. 😳😱 Oh oh... hopefully he's alright and it's nothing serious... 😳 When the smoke finally disappeared, we found out that he had forgotten to release the handbrake. 🙈😂 After a long time, he managed to release it somehow, and finally we arrived in Salento. 👍🏻😅
We actually put on our hiking shoes and went to the "Valle del Cocora". ⛰️😎 The first part felt almost like being in the Alps, but then we continued through the cloud forest to a hummingbird farm. ⛰️😎 We had a little snack there and watched the hummingbirds quickly devouring the nectar. 😜 But what was really amazing was the beautiful green fields with tall palm trees and cows grazing on the hillside in front of us. ⛰️🌴🐮🌴😁 We were able to enjoy this special panorama. 😍😎
On the next day, we visited a organic coffee farm. 🌱
Since no one else besides us joined the Spanish tour, we had a private tour with the farmer. 👨🏽🌾👏🏻😃 He showed us his entire farm and explained every step from planting to the coffee in the cup. 🌱☕️👏🏻😃
Then we were allowed to separate the dried coffee beans from the husks with a sieve in front of the house, roast them in their aluminum pans, grind them, and of course, drink them. ☕️😍 Colombian coffee is really something special. ❤️ Even Pädu had some ☕️. 👍🏻😜
The farmer also showed us what else they grow on the farm. 🌿 From bamboo and various herbs to blackberries, avocado trees, bananas, limes, passion fruit, and pineapple that we were allowed to pick and eat. 🎋🥑🍌🍊🍍👏🏻😜 It was one of the best fruits we've ever had. 🍍😍
