We are slowly getting used to moving back and forth, because today we are moving again. However, since we have decided to extend our stay in Chiang Mai, we can reach our new destination in just 7 minutes on foot this time. We are moving from the north of the old town to the south.
After packing, having breakfast and checking out, we set off. However, we cannot go straight to our room yet, so we first store our luggage and explore our new neighborhood. There is a market, the southern city wall with moat, and various restaurants near the new hotel.
At noon we can finally check in a little earlier. On this occasion, our new local landlord Thoni gives us many good tips for our next explorations. The new room is slightly smaller than the previous one, but also cozier. We feel comfortable right away. From our window, we also have a beautiful view of the western old town and the main attractions, but above all of the mountains.
But before we can go back into the city, unfortunately we have to do some laundry today. We neglected this a bit last week, so now a considerable amount of dirty laundry has accumulated. Due to the lack of other options, we have to convert the still empty waste bin into a laundry bucket by removing the garbage bag and filling it with warm water and detergent. After quite a bit of hard work, our room is now full of wet laundry at every opportunity. After the job is done, we wonder why we didn't just invest 40 ฿ (about €1.33) in a laundry service, oh well.
In the evening we visit a very idyllic temple with a large pond and a bamboo bridge and finally go out to dinner. Tomorrow and the next few days there will be more action, promised!
