We are going to Zagreb. Departure as relaxed as rarely. What a life without employed work makes possible.
The journey goes smoothly. We refuel in Slovenia for 1.64 euros - saved again.
The campsite in Zagreb is relatively new (2011) and accordingly comfortable. I only use the restaurant on site to buy beer. On the first evening there is lentil soup.
There are many cats here. The one pictured settles on Katja's (!) lap on the first evening.
The next day we set off to Zagreb by bike. 14 kilometers from the far west to the center. Bicycle paths are rare, but you are officially allowed to ride on the sidewalks and the drivers are surprisingly attentive and considerate.
What can you say about Zagreb? Quite pretty, sounds nice. Zagreb is the capital of Croatia, roughly divided into the lower and upper city. The Ilica Ulica, the city's largest shopping street, serves as a separation. There is more administration upstairs and more business downstairs, roughly speaking.
You should read about attractions in the travel guide or Wikipedia. However, you can stroll around the old town nicely and the food (Cevapcici) was also OK. And everyone was very friendly and appreciated a few scraps of Croatian.
