In the last few days we have traveled a bit south by train and bike and first spent a day in Sundsvall.
Swim in the Baltic Sea again, see the city - Sundsvall is called Stenstad, stone town because the city center was rebuilt entirely in stone after a fire in 1888, in part by the same architects and craftsmen who had just redesigned one of Stockholm's islands. Accordingly, one also has an urban impression. Then we did a little hike up the 'North Hill', enjoyed a great view and saw a few old houses and a sawmill from the open-air museum, which wasn't really open.
Yesterday afternoon we took the train inland to Östersund, which has a lot of ups and downs in between. We will stay here for a while or explore the north of Sweden from here. Östersund is not bigger than Rüsselsheim, but here is the big center and roughly the geographic center of Sweden.

First ride on the Inlandsbanan, a kind of museum railway that runs 1,300 km north-south in the Swedish interior. Today until about 11 a.m. in Vilhelmina and back from 4:30 p.m. The big tour beyond the Arctic Circle is being planned...
