Still somewhat unmotivated, I'm now back. I've had a few nice, exciting days where I lacked the motivation and time to write. If this were a climbing blog, I could have delivered the best content.
We left Leonido yesterday and I can't wait to return as soon as possible. Almost everyone here shares a passion for climbing and other outdoor sports. Many people spend several days or weeks here. There are some good places to stay and in Leonido itself you can get everything you need to settle down for a while. It's a lively but at the same time relaxed place where climbers can have a great time.
On Friday we had a small celebration for Jesica's birthday. Bürsti turned 35 on Saturday. Two reasons for a proper birthday party. The parking lot was the perfect location. We already knew some of the people, but we invited everyone. Despite the rain, it was a fun party.
Bürsti didn't expect it, but he played music until the battery was empty. We will redeem his birthday present, a voucher for the car wash, together at the next opportunity. We also got two new gas bottles.
From Leonidio we went to Gythio yesterday. We spent a night there and left Jesica's bus there to drive almost 300km north today. Here in Diakopto, in the north of the Peloponnese, our approximately 14-day hike on the Greek part of the E4 long distance trail will start tomorrow. We have 300 wonderful, adventurous kilometers and almost 10,000 stable altitude meters ahead of us.
I'm really looking forward to this special section of my journey. I love hiking and I can't wait to get to know Greece even better and immerse myself more and more in the diverse nature, kilometer by kilometer.
I'm also looking forward to taking photos again and writing the occasional post, depending on how good the power supply looks on the way.
