After a hearty breakfast at the Hilton, we took off promptly at 10:25 a.m. with the A380-800 plane named Fleicher.
The 11.5-hour flight dragged on like chewing gum. Even the live broadcast of Bayern vs. Leipzig couldn't change that.
When we landed in LA, we were initially scared before going through immigration.
Surprisingly, everything went super fast and easy, including the luggage pickup.
We only had to wait 5 minutes for our pre-booked shuttle from Germany.
Then we headed to Santa Monica. Our driver took a little detour through Venice and showed us the canals.
Venice translates to Venedig. We didn't know that connection before. But very cool.
Once we arrived at the hotel, we went straight to the Santa Monica Pier.
From now on, the motto was 'Don't rest'. The time difference hit us hard.
After having a snack at Pier Burger and Japadog, we went back to the hotel.
So, now everyone is exhausted.
It's now 6:40 p.m. here and 3:40 a.m. back home. Since we hardly slept on the plane, we can't stay awake anymore.
Hats off to Resl. She did great at only 10 years old.
Good night now and stay healthy.
