28th Day: After a relaxed day at the beach, it was time for some more action today. So we went back to the mainland. Luckily, this time the ferry was not crowded.
On the way, we took care of some things like refilling water, fueling up, buying bread and groceries. Today, we want to hike to the lighthouse at the southernmost cape of the Peloponnese - Cape Maleas. The drive there will be quite adventurous in the last few kilometers. I'm curious how we will master the town passage of Velanidia tomorrow. I have never driven on such a steep road before!
The hike follows the coast closely. Along the way, we pass several bays with crystal clear water. The majority of the route is dotted with rough dark gray boulders along the coast. Only the bays interrupt this pattern with red cliffs. The lighthouse at the end is not particularly attractive. Overall, the path was challenging but not worth the strenuous drive in my opinion.
We are staying directly at the "hiking parking lot" in Agias Myros. It is wonderfully quiet there and offers a beautiful view of the sea.
