Happy Birthday, dear Charlotte!!!!!

Karin slept for more than 10 hours - which was probably necessary.

There were many abbreviations on the breakfast menu, so the question of what OR stood for was quickly asked and answered:

OR stands for “or” (ham OR salmon). Yes - maybe still too early (09.30).

We go off and just let ourselves drift. No appointments, no: I have to go there, just stroll and look.

The view from the Skydeck is breathtaking and shows the full extent of the city very well. In the spaciousness you can see the residential areas with lots of greenery and get the impression of a certain peace and serenity there and know about the pulsating hysteria in the Central Business District.

From up there at a height of 285 meters you can look at it all from a certain distance and let it take in.

Back at sea level, we called (video WhatsApp) with my former colleague Manuela Cadd, née Vierheller, who had turned her back on Germany in the early 2000s and now lives in Melbourne with her own family after Sydney. Unfortunately, Manu had to cancel a planned personal meeting because her husband was recently ill with Covid.

We get the tip from Manu to take a look at St. Kilda.

No sooner said than done - we took the tram to St. Kilda and enjoyed the afternoon in the beautiful spring weather.

In the evening back in Melbourne at Federation Square the mood was quite lively. Friday evening, great weather and the Australian Football Semi-Finals will be played in Melbourne. There's a lot going on on the streets and in the bars.

We grab two beers and let the evening end.
