Day 16 - Dolce far niente
Back on the mainland. On the ferry, there was so little going on that even the animals could sit undisturbed in their own seat. 😉 Of course, only briefly, then they preferred to be with us again... 😊
We navigated to our destination today, the resort town of Pärnu, on side roads away from the main route. So it was a cozy cruise with a few stops: churches, forest paths, views of the sea. 👍 Coffee in the front row with a free foot at the beach and a quick dip in the waves. ⛱ 🏊♂️ The water was so shallow that it was very warm again. Estimated at least 24 degrees. We felt like we were on the Adriatic Sea... 😎
But as dark clouds - accompanied by thunder - approached, it was only a short beach experience. ⛈ We reached the hotel with dry feet. When we entered the room on the second floor, it was already raining. That was timing! 😁
As it drizzled on, the city tour was postponed until tomorrow morning. But hunger still drove us to the Italian restaurant around the corner. Good choice, because the food was excellent. 👌 Pizza in the pan... 🍕 Garlic bread au gratin as an appetizer. 😋 Apparently, many others knew that the food here tasted good too. A queue of hungry people patiently waited - there were always about 20 people waiting for a table. 🙈 In the rain... 🙄 Unknowingly (!!) we had previously 'overruled' the line, as we had come through the garden. Oops! 😳
So, that's it from our unspectacular lazy day. Tomorrow, the circle will close as we head back to Riga.
Buona notte! 😉🇮🇹
