Travel to South Thailand - Day 1

Oñemoherakuãva: 19.08.2017

Today we started our travels to the southern part of the country. We were warmly greeted in the hotel lobby by our tour guide and driver. The first stop was at a train station - if you can even call it that 😁 We took the train to Maeklong. Nothing special in itself, except that the market has to be partially cleared multiple times a day for each train passing through. Of course, there is also fresh produce that the market offers in large quantities and in every color 🦀🦑🐙🐡🐟

We then continued with a longtail boat to the floating market. There were culinary highlights from all over the country - such as fried bananas, noodle soup, or sticky coconut milk rice 😍 Later, we were even allowed to get hands-on and prepare specialties such as banana candies or bamboo rice with a local farming family.

In the late afternoon, our tour guide took us to a local restaurant. Don't let the appearance of the restaurant deceive you, because the lunch we were served (grilled fish, mussels, vegetables, and shrimp) was exceptionally delicious.
