After we arrived in Montreal and checked into our hotel room, we headed towards the old town spa.
We didn't have many other options, as all the museums were closed on Mondays. And unfortunately, the weather wasn't great either.
But the spa was really cool. It was on a ship with a view of the old port and the old town of Montreal. So sightseeing included.
While strolling through the old town, we were somewhat surprised - the city was deserted.
We ended the evening in a Catalan restaurant. Our waiter told us why there was nothing going on - it was spring break. If you can call it spring here. Jeremy (our waiter) had hoped all evening that we would suddenly start speaking French, but we had to disappoint him. And he was the first one who could do something with my name. Normally, I just get strange looks here - Henni also explained why. Sissy is a derogatory term here and means something like wimp... Great.. But Jeremy immediately knew that I was named after the empress because he had watched the movies at some point. That was very surprising. He also tried to convince us to meet him for a nightcap at the pub around the corner. We were the first ones to arrive that evening and the last ones to leave.
Slightly tipsy, we thought it was a great idea and actually went to the pub - only to be turned away right away. The waiter explained to us that since they don't have a bar license, we have to order something to eat... But we were too full and didn't want to ruin the great food with cheap fries. Jeremy must have been waiting for us in vain...
On the way back to the hotel, we happened to pass through Chinatown.
