After a few days in Bocas, we quickly adapted to the relaxed lifestyle here and took the day slowly. It started raining during breakfast, which provided a nice cool down. So we spent the morning chatting on the terrace.
At noon, we took the beach bus over the bumpy road to Bocas, which was much cheaper than a taxi. From there, we took the water taxi to the neighboring island to the restaurant 'leaf eaters'. They had delicious vegan food and homemade iced tea. Amazing view and lots of hipsters. It was great! 🐒
Afterwards, we strolled through the colorful town and settled in one of the numerous bars.
Back at Bluff Beach, we had the obligatory exchange with Simon, who showed us videos of a sloth that had fallen from a tree here this afternoon. Of course, we weren't there at the time... Armed with binoculars, we set out in search. It couldn't be far. Unfortunately, the crash pilot was already gone. Sloths are not as lazy as they seem!
Tonight, we will join volunteers to observe sea turtles laying eggs at Bluff Beach. They are supposedly up to two meters in size. The anticipation is building!
