Early in the morning we start. At the port, the luggage is scanned for organic material, and we take the small taxi boats to the ferry ships that only transport passengers and their luggage. Then about 2 hours over the sea to Isla Isabela. Again with the boat taxi to the dock and with the taxi to the hotel in Villamil, the only town on Isla Isabela. The hotel is right on the beach and we have a room with a view of the sea. Very nice.
We rent bicycles and ride the path to Mura de Lagrimosa (the Wall of Tears), passing sand beaches, mangrove forests, and cactus forests. It's lunchtime and it's hot! We actually reach the wall. In the 1950s, prisoners had to build their camp here and pile up this wall. This wall, pure arbitrariness, served only for the torment of the prisoners. We are exhausted from the little bike ride in this heat, but the idea of carrying, working, and bringing stones to the wall every day in the heat makes us dizzy. On the way back, we stop at special spots that should be visited, including Playa del Amor. Here we refresh ourselves in the water. Ahhhh. But as soon as we get on the bike, the sweat starts running, it's pure madness. Our water that we brought with us is already finished. At the entrance of Villamil, we finally find relief 'Cerveza'. Here we stop and have a cold beer and eat empanadas.
After a break at the hotel, we set off to Concha y Perla, a small bay after a mangrove forest, where snorkeling is the order of the day. And here they are, the giant tortoises in the water, the fish in all colors. It's so beautiful. Ahhh
We want to enjoy the sunset in a nice beach bar, but the mosquitoes show no mercy. What a shame! Tomorrow evening we will be sprayed from the hotel. What a beautiful day!!!!!!!
