Work and Travel or Party Vacation?

Publisearre: 18.11.2016

As promised in the last article, the past few days have been a bit more adventurous in Down Under.

It all started innocently enough with a visit to the Opera House on Tuesday.

Then we became the absolute stars of the hostel kitchen with our homemade tacos. After devouring them amidst the envious faces of our roommates, we headed to the Harry-Larry Club, which is directly attached to our hostel, and just like that, the first intoxicated evening was checked off the list.

Waking up the next day, we indulged in an extensive nap from 2 pm to 11 pm, only to grace Larry, as we lovingly call him, with our presence once again. What followed there naturally followed the Vegas principle, what happens in Larry stays in Larry!

After another wild night, we went back to Bondi Beach in the afternoon, but since Sydney also has windier days in its repertoire, the three of us froze our butts off.

When the evening plans included another nightclub, this time a slightly fancier one than Larry, we felt strongly reminded of the school trip to Bulgaria.

Upon arriving at the club called LVY, we first noticed that we're really poor bastards. But hey, the location was really nice with countless areas, an elevator completely covered in artificial turf, and a rooftop area with a swimming pool that looked absolutely stunning.

If it weren't for all those ostentatious rich kids partying there, the evening could have been even better.

The next day, we finally arrived at our Bulgarian Golden Beach.

During the day, we went back to Bondi Beach. When we were determined to take a break in the evening, we were persuaded by the sight of the ladies who wanted to spend their Friday at Larry. Sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do.

Our red buddy Lars was also with us, whom we picked up here and who revolutionized our language by renaming "getting a sunburn" to "doing the Lars."

After receiving the first insults from friends sitting in lectures back home and a mix of bewildered and envious comments about what our stay here has to do with Work and Travel, let me just say, I'm partying for you!

After another night of partying at Harry-Larry, we now plan to take a break again, but you probably already know how that's going to end...
