The Central Market of Salamanca (Castile and León, Spain, Europe) is the oldest market in the city. It is located in the Plaza del Mercado next to the Plaza Mayor and just a few meters from the main shopping areas of the city. It is also a protected architectural work over a century old by architect Joaquín de Vargas Aguirre, dating back to the early 20th century. Today, it is a must-visit on any tourist route in Salamanca, as in addition to its aesthetic contribution to the beauty of the building, this square offers traditional products from the province, the best meats, fish, and vegetables, as well as all kinds of service establishments.
