Hello beautiful, clean city where everything works and everyone understands us. I'm really amazed and can hardly recover. But after five weeks in Vietnam, Hong Kong is paradise. Not that Vietnam wasn't beautiful, but the big cities, Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi, can't be compared to Hong Kong. Hong Kong is Hong Kong.
A modern and hectic city where residents only stare at their phones and your neighbor definitely doesn't know your name. Nevertheless, I'm completely blown away. Already on the train from the airport to the city center, I can't stop marveling. The weather is nice and the city by the sea shows us its most beautiful side.
Our accommodation, the Kimberley Hotel, is located at 28 Kimberley Road in the Tsim Sha Tsui area on the Kowloon Peninsula of Hong Kong. The area is considered the shopping mecca of Kowloon, but we quickly drop off our luggage in the room before we continue to explore the underground of Hong Kong. We get tickets for the subway and off we go. The subway network is quickly deciphered and there is no need to worry about getting lost. Everything is written in English and people help when they see that you're clueless.
We find a street lined with shoe stores and can't resist. We also find new clothes and spend a day just shopping. It feels really good to stroll through the city in new clothes and shoes. I'm happy!
Of course, a ferry ride from Kowloon to Hong Kong Island is a must. On Hong Kong Island, the light show takes place every evening at 8:00 p.m. and we don't want to miss it. But first, we go to a steakhouse where we enjoy a glass of wine and very good food.
In Hong Kong, we spoiled ourselves and treated ourselves to something. And I'm sure I will come back to Hong Kong someday.
Hong Kong, my beauty, I will miss you!
