We didn't really think about how we want to spend this day and discuss over breakfast whether we want to spend another day in the city or rather continue driving. The reviews of the national museum that we read online convince us to drive towards the city. In the best weather, we stroll along the waterfront towards the city. We are again impressed by the skyline of Wellington.

We arrive at the museum faster than expected and after a short exploration, looking for the entrance, we find ourselves in a very impressive entrance hall. On the first floor, there is a lot of information about New Zealand's animal and plant life and the history of the islands. Particularly impressive are the many interactive stations and the earthquake simulator. We continue to an exhibition about the wars that New Zealanders were involved in. Individual fates are presented in quite detail and interesting way.

We are already quite overwhelmed with information and there are a total of 6 floors. We still go through a photo exhibition, art galleries, the history of settlers, and the endangered species in New Zealand.

The "Te Papa" museum was well worth it! If you wanted to see, understand, and take in everything, we would have had to plan at least one more day. And we agree that it would be absolutely useful to make museums free in Germany as well.

We go hungry to the next supermarket and get ourselves a snack, which we then take with us on the way back. On the way, a radio station is giving away free ice cream, which we gladly accept as a traveling meal and dessert. Back at the car, we leave Wellington heading south, buy water in a large supermarket, and drive to a campsite on the coast, which is only 20 minutes away from Wellington. We are totally thrilled because behind the sandy beach, an impressive mountain range begins and we can take a walk on the beach.

From the bed, we watch the impressive sunset and again today we have walked a lot, seen a lot, and accordingly, we are exhausted.
