Thai countryside life.

Today I went to Mukdahan to meet my Thai acquaintances and visit his family. It was not possible to travel the entire way in one day. So I flew from Chiang Mai to Khon Kaen, where it was raining heavily. My online research said that I had to go to the old bus terminal to catch the bus to Mukdahan. My Grab driver (like Uber) tried to explain to me in Thai that it was the wrong place. Eventually, we were able to clarify it and he dropped me off at the right place. Then we continued with masks on. In the evening, we went shopping together. The shopping malls can be really huge. The checkout counters are more comparable to those in our hardware stores. Dinner and bed.

The next day, we went to feed fish and visited his mother in the field. I would have preferred to do nothing at all. I felt so weak, and it was incredibly hot outside, with a temperature of 39 degrees. But we still went to a temple. At noon, we prepared a rice-banana snack.

On Sunday, we went to another temple and to the Mekong River, which forms the border between Thailand and Laos. In the late afternoon, we returned from the village to Mukdahan to catch the night bus to Bangkok. Arrived at 4 o'clock in the morning, went straight to bed. For lunch, I wanted to go to the Turkish restaurant that I had already visited. The woman there was so friendly and talked to me so much, and I promised to come back one day. But she already told me back then that it was not going well and she didn't know how long the restaurant would remain open. And that's how it turned out. There was already another restaurant in the premises. The alternative was pizza.

In the afternoon, we went go-karting. After that, I went to the airport. I wanted to go to an island for a few days. When I arrived there, my phone froze. It has happened before, so I didn't think much of it. However, this time it didn't turn back on. It didn't respond at all. I was a little worried. When I arrived at the hostel, I told the receptionist about it. I had already booked my transfer from Krabi (mainland city) to Ko Lanta (targeted island). She said I could keep the time open for the next day for now and look for a repair shop in the morning. I thanked her. In the dormitory, I received a laptop from a New Zealand couple and was able to send a message to my family that my phone was dead.
