Once descended, freed feet from shoes, deliciously supplied in the family camper, and off we go in search of a bed for the next few days. Mattress with a roof overhead, an option for doing laundry, and a warm shower: that's what we dreamed of after the tour in the Low Tatras and the unexpected cold.
As always, we simply drove to the next lake on Google Maps and rang the first guesthouse doorbell, and found a really nice place to shower, wash, and sleep. We had stumbled into the Slovak Paradise by chance, and it was truly paradisiacal with a lake, bathing weather, a train station at the door, and a dream view.
The next day, we took the train to the next small town to be able to enjoy the panorama properly (and without straining our feet), and when you are stranded 10 km from a UNESCO World Heritage site, you naturally have to visit the ice cave as well. The Underground Ice City not only cooled us off (which was unnecessary after the thunderstorm that raged), but also amazed us. The pictures show what has grown from water in the mountain.
But every paradise also has an exit, and we found this one without nibbling on the apple and bid farewell to the loving family accompaniment and disappeared towards Kosice.
A thousand thanks to our support team of the last week, which not only carried our luggage around the mountain, but also spoiled us with delicious breakfast, lunch, coffee breaks, and dinner, and their presence. It was nice with you, even if we don't know whether it was juniper vodka or blueberry brandy that we emptied together 😊
