Goodbye, Mexico!

Like every vacation, this one also comes to an end. The last day in Mexico has arrived. We will take it easy and spend the day at the beach hotel. One last swim in the wonderfully clear sea. One last cool drink and a delicious burger at the beach bar. I also treat myself to a massage today. In Playacar, we will get some nice souvenirs for our loved ones back home. And of course, our self-painted artworks must not be missing.

Of course, we still need to pack our suitcases because tomorrow at around 1 pm our return flight to Germany departs. As our last vacation day slowly comes to an end and the night sets in, I wake up in the morning feeling slightly nauseous. So far, not tragic, but just before we are picked up from the hotel, I start feeling really sick. I must have caught something. Of course, right on time for the return flight, great! Except for the fact that I spend the entire return flight battling nausea, everything is going well. The flight from Cancun starts on time, the transfer in Atlanta also goes smoothly (except that I almost faint), and the connecting flight to Stuttgart also takes off as planned. After feeling miserable throughout the flight, I feel slightly better after landing in Stuttgart. However, we are immediately greeted by the cold German weather! But we warm ourselves up with thoughts of the vacation ;)

We had a really nice time in Mexico and would go back there anytime. Maybe not necessarily to the same hotel and maybe not directly to Playa del Carmen. It was a bit too busy for us there, although the beach was really beautiful. However, the area around Tulum and Akumal seemed a bit quieter to us, so we would consider that more. I was particularly fascinated by the cenotes, which should definitely not be missed when vacationing in Yucatan!
