The past few days have flown by. We've spent a lot of time lying on the beach, soaking up the sun, snorkeling, and simply doing nothing.
Every evening, we watched the most beautiful sunsets and let our thoughts run free.
We ate at the beach, cooked delicious meals in PEPPER's kitchen, and enjoyed fresh fish at the restaurant.
On Monday, we took a bike ride along the coast to the charming village of Rovinj. Unfortunately, we got caught in a heavy rainstorm. But that didn't stop us from strolling through the narrow romantic streets and enjoying a meal at a fine restaurant.
Above the city stands a Catholic church, which was quite popular on this rainy day. We spent some time there, admiring the marble altars and the wonderful paintings on the walls and ceiling.
For those who have been following our travels for a while, you know that we light 3 candles at every church visit.
Nina and Theresa each light one for their families, and the third one together.
This will always be the case, even if we are not traveling together, one of us will always light a candle for the other.
So we always have our blessing on all our journeys and remember all the dear people who are no longer with us.
Tuesday was spent relaxing on the beach again, after we took advantage of the benefits of a washing machine.
For dinner, we had delicious homemade falafel sandwiches.
We cut garlic, leeks, and cucumbers from our home garden into small, fine, equal-sized pieces and mixed them with the quark. Seasoned with salt and pepper, it was wonderful. We heated the falafel in a pan, washed and cut the lettuce and bell peppers. We assembled the sandwich and had a wonderful meal.
The evening was once again ended with a beautiful sunset. We were delighted that the first postcards from Slovenia had arrived with friends and family, and then snuggled up in bed while watching an old episode of Tatort to fall asleep.
This morning, Theresa went out on the SUP before 7 am. Watching the sun rise and starting the day in a relaxed manner. Nina stayed cozy in bed until breakfast.
We will now spend the day in the sun and water, and end the beautiful time here in Croatia with a delicious meal in Rovinj in the evening.
Tomorrow we will continue our journey. But we don't want to think about the end of the trip just yet, as we still have several days ahead of us.
We already have a rough plan, but let yourself be surprised where we will go.
Your Nina and Theresa
