Gili Islands ~ Welcome to paradise 🐟🌴

On Monday we took the ferry to the Gili Islands, which exceeded our expectations: bright blue sky, turquoise blue water, and white sandy beaches like those in typical travel catalogs. ☀️🌴 The Gili Islands showed us a whole new/different world, completely without cars, buses, taxis, etc. So island tours were a very special experience with bicycles (carriage). 🚲
Together with our G-Adventure group and local divers, we took a snorkeling tour to the other Gili Islands (Gili Meno & Gili Air). Here we were able to observe corals, fish, and sunken statues. Luckily, I was in the right place at the right time and got to swim with a turtle. 🐢🐟
To finish our Gili excursion, we went to the main island of Lombok and bathed elephants, pet hippos, and cuddled with baby orangutans at the wildlife park~ an unforgettable trip! 🐘
