Almost falling asleep on the beach, I woke up because of a bump from Chantal. "Diane, I think there's something in the water," she said. Blinded by the suddenly bright environment and my dry contact lenses, I stumbled towards the water and could hardly believe my eyes. There was simply a seal splashing happily in the water about 5m away from the shore. I didn't expect to see such an animal.

During the bus ride home, it was freezing cold again and I had to find a way to keep warm. Fortunately, I had my surf shirt with me and could put it on over my beach dress. I would have loved to see the faces of the bus passengers when I threw myself into this beautiful outfit. But it was pleasantly warm and that's the most important thing!

Once awake, twice awake. Another bad night. But this time I woke up because of the heavy rain pouring down. Usually, I just wake up in the middle of the night or early in the morning because of the brightness in my room.

No wonder I was tired at school and almost fell asleep. The level was a bit too low for me, in my opinion, and the resulting boredom only made it worse. Then suddenly I got hungry and thought the day would never end. And when the ground started shaking beneath my feet, I thought I had gone completely crazy.

During lunch, I told Chantal and Camille about this and they seemed to not have felt anything until the ground shook again shortly after. Now at least Chantal could feel it too, and I wasn't going mad. In a sort of out of sight, out of mind way, the three of us stumbled to the beach to take a nap. I actually succeeded in falling asleep and felt a bit more refreshed afterwards.

On the way to the bus stop, we heard the sound of guitars and singing through a loudspeaker and listened in when we recognized the song 'Somewhere over the rainbow'. Now came the all-important question: bus or concert? We decided to go for the concert and sat down on the grass in front of the two musicians. We didn't regret it for a second, because next to us were already hula dancers. They turned out to be the wife, daughter and son of one of the singers and put on a captivating show. Even though there wasn't much dancing, I could hardly take my eyes off it and the whole atmosphere fascinated me.

In the bus, we discussed the topic of the shaking ground again and then googled earthquakes in Hawaii. We saw that there apparently were small earthquakes that I had felt. Ui, I was getting a little uneasy when I thought about earthquakes. At the same time, we were able to review the topic of earthquakes that we had covered in the pre-course for the teacher training college a bit ;)

Today, I finally woke up with the alarm clock and not before. Was this perhaps due to the sleep mask I bought on Monday? I have no idea, and I'm not even sure if I had it on the whole night. I actually can't remember taking it off in the morning when my alarm clock rang. Anyway, the most important thing is that I slept through the night again!

After my beautiful and delicious acai bowl in the afternoon, we bought our bus pass for the month of May and hopped on the bus towards Kaka'ako. An area where you can see a lot of graffiti. We didn't want to miss this and went on the hunt.

It's fascinating how beautiful, colorful, and creative all these graffiti are.
After a while, our feet started getting tired and the weather didn't look so peaceful anymore. On the way to the bus stop, we got completely soaked in the rain. Since we didn't have a direct bus home and barely missed the connection, we sought shelter in a store and warmed ourselves up with a chai latte. At least it wasn't raining anymore on the way from the bus stop to the house.
