So, finally started the journey. Dreamt about it for many years, now it's happening...
In the morning, I leave Dresden around 09:30 am, planning to get on the highway towards Czech Republic in Pirna. Hm, I completely forgot that the entrance ramp is closed. So, I have to drive in the opposite direction to use another entrance ramp. It's pouring rain, which gives me the opportunity to notice that the roof is leaking at two places, both visible and audible. Apparently, it tore during the loading and walking on the roof. But luckily, I have silicone with me, so I stopped twice briefly and sealed it again... Now it's watertight again...
After refueling in Czech Republic, I realize at some point that the fuel gauge must have broken. It's stuck at half full, no reaction even when the ignition is turned off... Oh well, I'll just drive based on mileage and estimated fuel consumption and refuel as a precaution...
After entering Slovakia, I drive through a tunnel in Bratislava at some point. The speed limit is 80, so I roughly stick to it. Then a truck with an Austrian license plate comes from behind and tries to push me. It got dark behind me, a distance of 2 meters, no more. But he also didn't want to overtake, it seemed to me like he wanted to express some aggression towards me. Actually, I never wanted to drive faster than 90/95 for engine protection, but it got too heated here. Strangely, even with a good 100 according to GPS speedometer, he stayed close. My hand signals for him to overtake and reducing the speed again to a good 80 sadly only resulted in him literally crawling up behind me...
Only at the Hungarian border, he had to move into the truck lane, so I could shake him off.
Unfortunately, I had already forgotten about the incident, he was behind me again about an hour later and started the game all over again. This time, I wanted to leave the highway at a rest stop, he followed me, so I preferred to just continue on the main lane very spontaneously.
Later, he eventually overtook me very closely and abruptly, gesturing wildly and cutting in very narrowly. Fortunately, he then moved away... I have no idea what was going on with him, apparently he has lost his mind... The trailer's license plate was SW-107-CB, and it said OVT-Logistic on the trailer... Well, I sent an email to the company about it, maybe someone will take it seriously.
Shortly after 8 pm, I stop at a rest stop between Budapest and Szeged, the first day is coming to an end here.
Today, I've covered 762 kilometers...
