In the Lofoten Islands, there is only one direction at first - back south to the tip of the island chain. On the way, we stop in #Henningsvær, a village with many islands that grant entry over the super narrow bridges. It is peaceful here. And because the view from below is not enough for us yet, we climb up #Festvågtind and take a look at the whole thing from above. From here, we see the impressive mountains of the Lofoten Islands rising sharply from the sea for the first time. Very uplifting. After a strenuous hike and a lot of climbing, we feel as elevated as the wet clouds above us or the mud-covered dog that has made it up here as well (No, the dog didn't run up here on its own, it had company).
Enjoying the view created by the passing clouds and the abyss in front of us, we sit for a while.
Today is the first time that I really miss climbing. The sight of the brave rock climbers and Gandalf (yes, that's what the wall is called) makes me a little nostalgic. But as they say, you can't have it all. And we certainly have a fabulous view here, even without climbing equipment.
After the strenuous ascent and descent, we reward ourselves by spending the night at one of the beautiful sandy beaches. A little bit of the Caribbean can indeed be found here.
