After being able to take only a cold shower this morning, we headed to the Wicklow Mountains.
In Glendalough, which translates to Valley of Two Lakes, we took a beautiful walk along those very lakes with fantastic views of the mountains despite the lack of sunshine. In the monastery settlement dating back to the 12th century, we discovered the next Rapunzel tower. Either there are multiple Rapunzels in Ireland or the prince must find the right tower first... 🤔 We haven't found the answer to this question yet.
Afterwards, we went to the tallest waterfall in Ireland, the Powerscourt Waterfall, which is 121m high.
In the afternoon, exhausted from the many activities and sometimes long car rides, we spent our time relaxing in the accommodation.
To our delight, we were able to change rooms, but then came the next shock: after being able to take only a cold shower in the morning, the shower here didn't work at all. After some back and forth, we were able to use our hosts' shower. It was at least hot, but infested with spiders (after the 3rd one I discovered, even I had enough - and it wasn't the last one).
To top off the day, we had to abruptly end our evening after dinner because Clarissa also had a migraine attack.
Let's hope she feels better tomorrow so that we can enjoy our last day of vacation together.
