The journey from Theth to Valbone goes over a pass. Here, drivers transport the luggage of hikers who want an easier time over the pass with horses. As we approached the pass, dark clouds gathered, and we quickly began our steep descent. Fortunately, we reached a rest stop just in time before a heavy downpour. We enjoyed a delicious meal there for 10 €. When I wanted to pay, I saw where the food was being prepared. I couldn't believe it... a shed made of roofing felt from which smoke was billowing, black pots, and an open fire. The food was amazing, though. It's said that until recently, blood feuds were still present in Valbone... that's what I've been told. Also, people mostly drive Mercedes here. These vehicles have proven to be the most robust for this area after testing. Upon arriving in Valbone, we initially struggled to find our accommodation. So, we took a taxi that took us there for 10 €. With breaks, we took about 10 hours for this tour. In our accommodation, we experienced multiple power outages, and nothing worked anymore. My sleep wasn't very good. Outside our window, a generator was running, which thankfully was turned off around midnight. The owner ran the accommodation with her family... everyone was involved, and she also spoke German. She was from Magdeburg and had married an Albanian. Her husband will take us tomorrow to the start of the next tour from Valkone to Vusanje. He has to drive about 30 km in the same direction anyway to pick up staff for the accommodation.
